Recover deep-sea stony corals and gorgonins during Alvin dives. In addition, several push cores at each major site.

Gravity Cores (night-ops) from two of the main dive sites: Murray-Patton and Campbell chosen in conjunction w/ seabeam and 3.5khz / PDR or CHIRP.

Water and plankton samples:
A water sample from 5m water depth every 0.5 deg latitude on outbound leg 1 and on to Marchand. A rosette cast @ Patton-Murray and also at Campbell

Plankton/POC samples from surface waters in conjunction w/ water sampling.
