    Science objectives/activities planned:
Recovery of 1 Surface mooring
and 1 CTD cast to a depth of 200m for a calibration of the moored instruments. No water samples needed.

WHOI shipboard scientific instrumentation desired:
ADCP - 75 KHz
    3.5 kHz bathymetry system
CTD/rosette system

Is nighttime work anticipated on this cruise? No

    Critical CTD sensors:

Do you need Seabeam? (AT and KN only) No

Long baseline (LBL) transponder navigation? No No. of xpndrs/nets:
Ultra-short baseline (USBL) navigation? No
Doppler/GPS navigation? Yes

Will you be using portable science vans? No How many:

Science Van #1
Science Van #2
Science Van #3

    Location
    Water
    Power

Anticipated standard oceanographic cable use:

Instruments(s)
Instrument Weight(s)
Maximum Depth
    Conducting hydro
    Steel hydro
    Steel trawl
    .681" fiber optic
    Do you require slip rings?
NoNumber of conductors:
    Do you need non-standard wire?
NoIf so, what type?
Do you need a traction winch?
No
Will you be bringing any equipment (winches, blocks, etc.) that lowers equipment over the side? No

If yes, please provide details: We would like to have one of the WHOI mooring winches to spool up 3700m. of 3/4" nylon mooring line. We also have 500m. of 1/2" jacketed wire rope that we would like to spool up on the ships trawl winch. We will need to pass 5/8" hardware as we spool up the 500m. piece. After the mooring is recovered, we will transfer the 500m. line to our own wood spool.
Will there be special requirements for:

    Electrical power
Yes
    Equipment handling
Yes
    Inter/intraship communications
No
    Science stowage
Yes

If yes to any of the above, please identify: 240 3 phase power and a connector provided by the ship.Mooring winch. Stowage of the surface buoy.

Will any of the following items be used on board?

    Explosive devices
No
    Portable air compressors
No
    Flammable gases
No
    Radioisotopes
No
    Isotope van
No

Will hazardous material be used aboard, or deployed by an ROV? No

What measures or plans have been made a) in the event of a spill, and b) for the removal and/or disposal of these materials at the completion of the cruise?
We have 8 instruments on the mooring that have Lithium D-cell battery packs. Upon recovery and download of the instruments, we will be removing the batteries and dispose of them when the ship returns to Honolulu.
