    Science objectives/activities planned:
Cruise objective is to field test a prototype seagoing lab instrument that measures properties of marine microbes. Instrument will be set up on benchspace in dry lab. Seawater samples will be prepared in the wet lab, from two sources:

1) from the ship's continuous seawater supply, throughout the cruise duration, when permitted in international waters.

2) from ~6 CTD-Niskin casts, taken in the Atlantic to depths less than 200m, spaced 2-3 days apart.

Replicates of these samples will be frozen onboard in the -70 for later reanalysis on shore.

WHOI shipboard scientific instrumentation desired:
Deionized water system
CTD/rosette system-70 deg freezer
10-liter Niskin bottles

Is nighttime work anticipated on this cruise? No
